Metallica and Nixon watches collaborate for new watch line. American heavy metal rockers, Metallica are set to launch their very own line of watches that pay tribute to music that spans over 4 decades.
US watch brand, Nixon have collaborated with Metallica to produce 8 individual watches with each time piece representing a cover of their back catalogue of albums over the years. Metallica who formed in California back in 1981, have gone on to sell millions of albums globally and are renowned for their heavy metal sounds to rockers all around the world.
The band’s current line-up includes Robert Trujillo, James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammet. In a statement released by Metallica, the band confirmed the launch of their timepieces will go on sale this November with prices ranging between €106 – €640 (approx.).
For those Metallica fans who can’t wait that long, they can pre-order their choice of watches online. Their new line of watch pieces are unique to the sense that the time face on each watch represents covers of the music albums that include ‘Master Of Puppets” Ride The Lightning’ and ‘Kill Em All’. The designs of each watch are totally diffrent but represent a real modern day fashion look.
This isn’t the first time that the quartet have worked with Nixon watches. Back in 2010 they teamed up together for a series of limited edition rocker watches using old guitar straps and leather jackets from various Metallica members to create watch bands with proceeds going to the Musicians Assistance Program.
Nixon watches who were founded back in the noughties (90’s) are no strangers collaborating with big brand names and have produced classic time pieces for some of the greatest sports action athletes back in history that include Leila Hurst, Tony Hawk along with entering into partnerships with the likes of Disney and Star Wars franchises.
