Why Jennifer Lopez is ditching sugar and carbohydrates

Why Jennifer Lopez is ditching sugar and carbohydrates. American singer and fashion model, Jennifer Lopez has challenged her buddy actress, Leah Remini to reduce sugar and carbohydrates from her daily diet for a 10-day period.

The “Jenny from the Block ‘ singer and her retired baseball player boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez are currently taking part in a self-imposed diet to ditch their carbohydrates and sugar intake as part of their New Year plan to get fit and healthy.

Last Monday 21st January 2019, both J. Lo and Alex started their healthy eating regime and have challenged fellow celebrities to follow suit and to start eating more healthily.

After their recent gym session last Monday, they shot a video which they posted up to Jennifer’s Instagram account which challenged her 48 -year old friend, Leah and other friends including film producer Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and TV broadcaster and actress, Hoda Kotb to join them in their challenge to ditch cabs and sugar for a 10 day trial.

In J.Lo’s post she said: “We’d like to challenge … let’s challenge some people! So, no sugar, no carbs, 10 days. I’m challenging Leah Remini, I’m challenging Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, and I am challenging Hoda. Hoda, I know you’re up for a good challenge. Baby, who do you want to challenge?”

Alex added some names to the mix, saying: “I’m going to go with my boy Gary Vee (Gary Vaynerchuk), you’re always running your mouth, try doing it with no sugar and no carbs. And then I’m going to go with my boy Michael Strahan – Stray, you’ve been challenged. And then Mark Mastrov, my partner. Go get it!”

It seem that J.Lo’s call for Leah to join in the cleansing program did not work with the 48-year-old actress sharing a photo of a margherita pizza and a sweet pie to her Instagram account in celebration of National Pie Day in the America.

However, Jennifer is determined to stick to her health plan although she admits it’s a real challenge. Talking to her 85 million Instagram followers, J.Lo said: “It turns out that when you don’t have sugar and you don’t have carbs, you’re really, really hungry all the time!”
