Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh to host Golden Globes 2019. American actor and TV host, Andy Samberg and Canadian actress, Sandra Oh will host this year’s Golden Globes 2018, which will take place on the 6th January 2019.
The “Brooklyn Nine-Nine star, Andy Samberg will take to the stage alongside his co-host, Sandra Oh, star of “Grey’s Anatomy” to host this years show that will be hosted on the 6th January 2018 in The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
The Golden Globes team took to social media account, Twitter to announce the news that read: “We are pleased to confirm that Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh will be co-hosting this year’s 76th #GoldenGlobes!”
Co-chairmen of American network, NBC Entertainment who hosts this prestigious and glamorous event George Cheeks and Paul Telegdy, confirmed the news in a press statement which praised the pair for their wit and charm.
They said: “Sandra and Andy are the perfect choices to host this world-class event. They bring wit, charm, and style to a room filled with the very best of film and television. It’s sure to be another unforgettable, fun-filled night.”
The Golden Globe Awards was founded back in 1944 and rewards and honours actors and actresses from the world of domestic and foreign TV and film.
It’s made up of 93 members of the elite Hollywood Press Association. Both Oh and Samberg take on the host role which in the past has been carried out by actor, Seth Meyers who hosted last year’s show in 2017 and actor Jimmy Fallon, Tina Fey and star of The Office, Ricky Gervais who has hosted the show four times.
Sandra and Andy are both Golden Globes winners with Sandra picking up the award back in 2006 for her performance in ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and Andy picking up two gongs for his role in ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ The official nominations for the 2019 Golden Globes are set to be unveiled on Thursday 6th December 2018.
