Jamie Dornan admits Belfast fans can be overwhelming. Irish actor, Jamie Dornan has revealed that he avoids places in his native Belfast because he gets recognised there to easily and that sometime his fans can be a little too hands on

The 36-yer-old hunk of the hit movies series Fifty Shades of Grey where he plays the part of Christian Grey admits that sometimes he doesn’t appreciate the attention he gets from excited fans.

Dornan who originates from Hollywood, County Down was speaking to the BBC’s Radio Times magazine and said : “You know, Belfast is brilliant now. It’s got amazing places to eat, the bars have always been brilliant, the people have always been brilliant.

“There are a few places I would avoid a little bit now because I’m probably more recognised at home than anywhere else in the world and sometimes it’s, er … people with a few drinks in them can be … well, they’re a bit hands on.”

He also added: “You’re in a headlock before you know it. I mean it’s the most loving headlock you can imagine, but sometimes you’re not up for that when all you want is a quiet drink with your mates.”

Jamie will appear in the remake of the action adventure Robin Hood that is set for release in cinemas on 21st November 2018. He will also star in “Death and Nightingales”, which is the new BBC’s three-part series which is based on Irish writer, Eugene McCabe’s County Fermanagh-set novel and will star alongside Matthew Rhys and actress Ann Skelly. Jamie was also reunited with Allan Cubitt, who was the the creator of The Fall.
