Dior set to launch new men’s fashion collection. French fashion house, Dior are set to launch their first ever men’s pre-fall runway show this November in Japan as part of their efforts to increase their market share in men’s fashion.
Dior’s collection will be designed by English fashion designer, Kim Jones. The show is set to coincide with a Dior men’s pop-up store at leading department store Isetan in Tokyo’s Shinjuku district that is set to open on 28th November 2018 for 2 weeks, that will see the launch of their first collection.
The Dior fashion capsule line for SS2019 will at the same time go on sale at their Dior flagship in Ginza, Tokyo ahead of its worldwide launch on the 1st December.
Talking to on-line fashion hub, WWD earlier this year, Kim Jones who joined the French fashion house back in April after spending 7 years as artistic director at Louis Vuitton.
Jones announced that his new men’s fashion line will include denim pieces that will be embroidered with the Dior’s signature bee that has been reimagined by American artist Brian Donnelly, AKA Kaws. who back in July 2018 designed a monumental floral sculpture for the designer’s debut Dior show in Paris in the same month.
Fashion house, Dior was set up in Paris after the Second World War back in 1948 by Christian Dior, but is more commonly known today as Dior. The Dior spring collection will see an introduction of new men’s accessories that will include a men’s belts and saddle bag with the belts styled with a CD buckle created by British fashion designer, Matthew Williams.
Fashion designer, Jones in a statement about the new Tokyo show said “A fashion show in Tokyo is the best way to present and celebrate my first Dior pre-fall men’s show. Japan is a magical country that I know quite well and that I love particularly for its incredible and unique culture, history and nature, which have always been very fascinating and a great source of inspiration to me,”
