Burberry and Vivienne Westwood punk collaboration. One of the UK’s leading fashion designers, Vivienne Westwood has teamed up with another British fashion powerhouse, Burberry for a collaboration that takes their new fashion presentation line-up down memory lane and back to the 90’s.
The 77-year old queen of punk fashion, Vivienne Westwood is mainly responsible for catapulting punk fashion of the 70’s to its new age mainstream place in fashion today.
She has teamed up with Burberry that incredibly was founded back in 1865 by founder, Thomas Burberry, and have lifted the lid on their incredible new fashion collection that definitely has that nostalgic 90’s look about it.
Their new campaign which features lots of check pattern fashion designs that are synonymous with the Burberry brand features Surrey model, Kate Moss who can be seen posing in a check shirt with matching high-waist pants.
The sequence of photos for the new campaign was taken by one of the UK’s leading photographers, David Sims who first made a name for himself back in the 90’s.
The idea for the limited-edition collection between the two British fashion houses is based on a unisex fashion approach that creates a unity of punk fashion and tradition by re-inventing some of Westwood’s most famous pieces.
These include kilts, jackets, berets and lace-up platform shoes and underwear. Westwood already supports non-for-profit organisation, Cool Earth who are a UK-based international organisation that strives to protect endangered rainforest around the world in order to combat global warming and ecosystems that also provide employment for local people in these threatened areas.
The new collection between Vivienne Westwood and Burberry are available on the Burberry website with prices ranging from €60 to €1200. Certainly a must for fans of punk rock and Burberry styling with a cool fashion trip down memory lane.
