Best Makeup Products For Beginners. We all have to start somewhere.
With the mountains of products out there, it can be a little intimidating knowing where to start if you’re new to makeup.
From primers, to foundations, to powders, to lips, to everything in between, I’ve put together a list of the best makeup for beginners and what order you should do your makeup.
Primer: Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser €11.49
Primer is the first step in your makeup routine and it helps to improve your skin’s texture, erase the look of pores and fine lines and improve the longevity of your makeup. There’s loads of different primers out there for different things but one of my favourites is this one from Maybelline. As the name suggests, it covers up your pores, blurs out your skin and helps your foundation go on so much better.
Foundation: It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream €39.00
Next step is your foundation. This CC cream from It Cosmetics gives your natural looking coverage that you can build up if you need to. A little goes a long way so it will last a long time.
Concealer: Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer €5.79
You apply concealer after foundation and use it to cover under eye circles, spots, acne scars or other imperfections. This one from Collection is incredible. It gives you insane coverage and is very affordable.
Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder €5.99
You’re going to want to set everything you just did with powder. This will help to keep your makeup on all day and take away any shine from your skin. It will also help you to blend out any powders you want to put on top, such as bronzer or blush. This Rimmel powder will give you a shine free, matte complexion for up to 5 hours.
Bronzer, Blush and Highlight: Sleek MakeUp Face Form €13.99
It’s easier for beginners to find a palette that contains everything you need. Start by applying bronzer, followed by blush and lastly highlighter to the high points of your face. Sleek’s Face Form come in four shades, ranging from light to dark and are very pigmented so you don’t need to use a lot of product.
Brows: NYX Micro Eyebrow Pencil €11.00
It’s important to do your brows before your eyeshadow as they will help guide the rest of your makeup look. This brow pencil from NYX is ultra thin and perfect for building up colour to create natural looking brows.
Eyeshadow: Morphe 350 Palette €26.00
It’s best for beginners to get a palette that contains a whole range of eyeshadows so you can create a multitude of makeup looks. Morphe are known for their high quality and affordable palettes and they usually have a good mix of shimmer and matte shades.
Eyeliner: Eyeko Skinny Liquid Eyeliner €12.56
You want to do your eyeliner after you apply your eyeshadow but before you apply mascara. If you are using liquid liner, I recommend this one from Eyeko. Or there’s some great gel liners out there too.
Mascara: Maybelline Great Lash Mascara €7.49
Finish off your eye makeup with some mascara, For a classic, fan-favourite look, try Maybelline’s Great Lash mascara.
Lips: Sleek MakeUP Matte Me €6.99
Your choice of lipsticks will depend of colour or preference. I personally love Sleek’s Matte Me lipsticks. They have a great range of colours, they are highly pigmented and don’t feel drying or uncomfortable, even after wearing them for hours.
Setting Spray: NYX Long Lasting Setting Spray €10.00
You’ll want to finish your entire makeup routine off with some setting spray. This will help make your makeup last longer and take the powdery look away. NYX has two setting sprays, one dewy and one matte, depending on your skin type.
